Financial Literacy

Chesterfield & St. Louis Metropolitan Financial Literacy Services

According to the American Psychological Association, money is Americans’ #1 stressor. Disagreements over money are one of the leading causes of divorce and family discord.

Perhaps one of the most fundamental life subjects we must master is:
understanding how our money can either benefit us or hinder us.

Our national debt is a living example of how mismanaging money and living beyond our means can make a country – just like people – very vulnerable and enslaved to their payments. Fortunately, or unfortunately, without money we have a difficult time surviving in our world today.

We at Reliance Financial Services understand the importance of financial literacy. It is our mission to educate, inspire, and empower as many people as we can on the subject of personal finances. We are qualified to teach about personal money matters – we are Certified Financial Education Instructors and have been certified through the National Financial Educators Council (NFEC). We believe in empowering individuals, couples, and families by educating them on financial matters because we believe that financial education is the foundation to achieving financial wellness and freedom.

Here at Reliance Financial Services, we want to make it very clear that what we offer, through our Financial Wellness education program, is financial literacy – the foundation to financial freedom. Our financial literacy program is offered commercial and advertisement free. We provide participants with the tools necessary to make informed and confident decisions about money matters – including how to obtain the services of trusted advisors, if they so desire.

We bring financial education to participants in a number of different ways including:

  • One-on-one sessions (with individuals, couples, and families)
  • Seminars
  • Classes at local community colleges and civic centers
  • Online courses
  • Employer-sponsored benefit programs
  • Lunch and learns

We utilize pre and post lesson surveys to measure the effectiveness of our lessons. We also utilize this information to gauge the experience level of each participant. As educators, we recognize that each person is at a different stage in their financial literacy journey. We want to make sure we are providing information in a relevant and effective manner. Financial material is covered in an interesting and interactive way that requires participants to apply the lessons to their individual situation.

Individuals

As with reading and computer knowledge, being literate in financial matters is essential to success in life. Those who are not equipped with the knowledge necessary to use their money correctly will more than likely lose that which they have. When we live in a world in which everyone seems to be vying for our money individuals need to be sure they understand the ramifications of choices they make – both the benefits and pitfalls.

If you are ready to take your financial know-how to the next level then please contact us today to inquire about your many options. We would love the opportunity to help you on your financial wellness journey.

Businesses

Many businesses are realizing the importance of providing Financial Wellness as a benefit to their employees. According to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, 7 out of 10 American workers say financial stress is the most common cause of stress. Likewise, the American Medical Association reports that 60% of illness and disease is caused by stress. Many employers believe that Financial Wellness programs could very likely be more important than Health Wellness programs. Employers understand that unless the underlying source of the stress is dealt with – no amount of Health Wellness can get rid of stress’ physical, mental, and emotional health impact.

Many employers are proactively providing employees with a Financial Wellness program. When employees are provided educational resources they become inspired by the wealth of information provided. With knowledge comes power – employees gain power to take control of their finances. Employees learn that they are in control of their money – not the other way around.

Participants are given step-by-step instructions on how to deal with the most common money challenges. These step-by-step instructions empower employees to set actionable goals. As employees begin blazing their own trail to financial freedom, their money worries are replaced with hope and optimism. Employers enjoy the benefits of having a healthier, more optimistic, and engaged workforce.

Reliance Financial Services would love the opportunity to show you how our Financial Wellness program can be of benefit to you and your employees. Our solutions are economically feasible for any organization. Please contact us today to learn more. We provide financial literacy services nationally, as well as in Chesterfield, St. Charles, Ballwin, Ellisville, O’Fallon, Arnold, and the surrounding St. Louis Metropolitan Area.
